Growing up was fun for me as my mum would always wake us on Sunday mornings to go prepare for church. This gets me angry most times as I felt reluctant to go to church because services was always boring and long, speaking latin languages I know nothing of.But this has always helped me to waking up early to do my chores.
On getting to church, I would see the Vicar dressed in his white regalia and a troop of officiating ministers walking majestically into the church with its members singing their praises and it got me into wishful thinking that one day I’ll grow up to also be a Vicar like him. This got me attending church services frequently, service long as usual, I’ll doze off to be woken up by the pretty ushers standing beside me. I’ll always look for the grammatical errors of the pastor, find faults in how services were officiated, sometimes even making mockery of those sleeping as their heads moved in opposite direction.
One thing got me baffled one day as I went to church, I noticed that it were only the males that were officiating in the services and the females chorusing Amen as if they were pushed to the back of the church. Then I walked up to the Vicar and asked him few questions, Sir,I noticed that it’s only the males that officiate, did God not also ordain women ministers as well, do they not need a platform to officiate, is it right for women to preach or take up leadership positions in the church as well? This and many more I asked but the vicar suprised at my questions gave me no satisfactory answers.
Then I walked back home struck by what I did observe in church and I ask again, Is it proper for women to preach and take on Leadership positions in the church???
PLEASE I NEED YOUR HONEST VIEWS ON THIS
